Christmas 2023 at Big Bait

Ahoy sailors!

November is drawing to a close and our big Christmas event is just around the corner again.

With the start of the event, you can play the mini-game "Scoop netting" to earn ice crystals for the Christmas market and open a door in the Advent calendar every day (from December 1st). You can also produce more crystals on the Christmas islands and complete the Christmas tasks.

Before we go into the individual features, here is the schedule so that you can keep an eye on all the times:

You can find the "Christmas tasks" in your harbor near the lighthouse.

Preparations for the festive season are in full swing! It smells of fresh gingerbread and fir branches. So it's high time to create a Christmassy atmosphere in your crew. Complete all the Christmas tasks and receive great rewards. There are lots of presents for completing the intermediate goals.

 

You will receive great rewards for completing a task. The number of harbor missions depends on your progress in the game. Ice fishing is equally difficult for every participant. (The numbers may change before the event starts). Each task has 4 intermediate goals. You will automatically receive the reward for the objectives in your inventory when you reach them and will also receive a system message.

If you don't have time to solve the tasks, you can also finish immediately for gold bars. However, the price for this is deliberately very high, as we want to reward player activity here. The more progress you make in the tasks, the lower the price for completing the task immediately. If a task is completed immediately, you will also receive the intermediate goals as a reward.

 

You can find the "Scoop netting" event in the Christmas tasks as an additional tab.

Scoop netting allows you to net fish jumping out of ice holes to obtain ice crystals, which you can exchange for rewards at the Christmas market.

You have 100 stamina available for this. Each time you swing your landing net, it will cost you 10 stamina. Your stamina regenerates by one point of stamina every minute. Alternatively, you can recharge your stamina for gold bars.

Once you have earned 10 catches, these are automatically exchanged for ice crystals.

There is also a ranking list in which the best fishermen can compete. The top 20 fishermen receive a unique award for their profile. Each player can also earn a badge for their profile.

 

From the first of December, you can open a door from the Christmas calendar every day and receive a random surprise. Missed doors can also be opened in exchange for gold bars.

When you open the window, you will see a preview of the 3 possible rewards for that day. Then click on the "Shuffle" button to select a reward. The 3 possible rewards will be hidden and mixed in the 3 bags and you can choose one of them. The reward of the selected bag is now yours. If you would also like to receive the other rewards of the day, you have the option of opening a 2nd bag for 2 gold bars and a 3rd bag for 5 gold bars.

 

 

In the Christmas store, you can exchange your hard-earned ice crystals for useful things such as items, skins and ships. We also offer specials on the days of Advent, where you can take advantage of special offers using gold bars. You can find the exchange market on the Christmas Islands in the Christmas Factory. From the post event onwards, you can reach it via the icon in the top right-hand corner.

There are 7 reward options available to you at the Christmas market:

The resource package (small)
Cost: 1 ice crystals

The resource pack contains credits and experience points. The amount of credits and experience points is calculated based on the player level.

The recycling points
Cost: 60 ice crystals

Here you get 100 recycling points for the building yard.

The Christmas stocking
Cost: 75 ice crystals

The Christmas stocking is an item that you can only obtain during the Christmas event. It increases both the storage capacity and speed as well as the working speed by 150% for 6 hours.

Cost: 150 ice crystals

The paint changes the appearance of your ship (see below) to that of a Christmas sleigh and improves status values (speed and work speed) by 50% for 7 days.

Note: The icebreaker and the Christmas sleigh are 15% and 25% better than the highest ship currently available for purchase in your shipyard. The following values are improved: storage capacity, speed and working speed.

Skin - Red festive glow
They can be applied to your ships to change their appearance and increase their status values. You will find the paint you have received in your dry dock and can apply it there.

 

On the Christmas Islands you will find several harbours that will help you catch the rare Christmas fish

   

In order to be able to use a port, one must first unlock it. You can unlock the first port for free. You can choose which port you want to unlock first. Each port you unlock will automatically have a ship sailing and fishing for you.

You can motivate the harbour with gold bars. Then you get a 10 ton bonus on the fish for the 10 minutes. At irregular intervals you have the opportunity to receive a 3 minute bonus for free. So check out the islands every now and then, because it's worth it!

Each port can be upgraded to level 5. In the following table you can see how long the expansion will take, how many ice crystals will be needed for the expansion and how many tons you will get after the expansion when the ship delivers.

Display

Below your stock indicator you will receive another indicator. It will show you how full the Christmas Fish Camp is, how many ice crystals you have, and how many fish you get into your camp per minute.

In the Christmas factory you can convert your fish into Chocolate Santa Clauses and get ice crystals for it. Your current progress will tell you how much chocolate you still need to make to receive a reward. The reward always stays the same, only the current progress increases each time.

Highscore

So that you also have some competition, there is of course again a highscore, where you can compete with other captains. Players who make it into the top 10 will be rewarded with an exclusive badge.

 

You can also give a present to your company during the Christmas season and take care of the new Christmas orders at the port authority. To do this, you simply pay in the gifts you find in the port orders. The amount of the order depends on the number of members. After a Christmas order has been completed, a new one is automatically generated.

 

You still want to give your company the right Christmas look? Then you can do it now! Enhance your company with decorations that are only available during the Christmas season.

 

In the Sailor School, you have the opportunity to recruit a unique sailor during the event. You can hire "Santa Claus" for ice crystals or gold bars. This sailor is of the Special type and will immediately earn you 20 attribute points in addition to your instructor attribute points.

• From level 10: -5% production time in the fish factory

• From level 30: +15% working speed

 

Of course, you can also earn a new achievement this year and earn a lot of prestige with it. To progress in the achievement, you have to collect ice crystals.
