Major Update #1 - 2017

 

The first major update this year is around the corner and brings several little features and improvements that should increase interaction among players and companies and provide a better overview of events in Big Bait.

 

A new "Welcome back" window

The new Welcome back window will display an overview of the most important news in Big Bait when you log in to the game. You will see the latest and most recent patch notes, active events, special deals, and much more, plus have a link for direct access.

 

New mini events and special deals

The update features two new mini events and specials each. The special deals will be available throughout the day but will be limited to a certain number per player. We're not telling you what the specials are yet. Keep your eyes open for new action icons at the edge of the screen.

Unlimited Cooking (mini event)

The name says it all – you can use the chefs without limit during this event. 

Shopping Spree (mini event)

During the shopping spree, it’s buy one, get one free for every item bought with Gold Bars.

 

New company interaction

When you log in after the update, you will now be able to see and click on the ships of your company members as they sail and go about their work. The ships are grey and transparent to help you tell them apart from your own.

You will also be able to visit the maps of other companies via their company profile. When you are on another company's map, an alternative company logo will be displayed for that company.

 

Motivating ships

The new motivate feature lets you motivate company members' ships and increase their performance (storage capacity, operating speed, and speed) by 10% for 2 Gold Bars. Each ship may only have one motivation active at a time.

You’ll also be able to motivate the ships right at the fishing grounds where they are working or via the ship details when you click on a company member's ship on the map or in their profile.

Monuments

Monuments are new company buildings which can be visited by other players, regardless of whether or not they are members of your company. Once monuments have been visited a certain number of times, the company that owns it can activate a bonus effect. Each player can visit up to 10 different monuments a day.

Padrao dos Descobrimentos

When activated, the "Padrao dos Descobrimentos" monument bestows an activity point on the company.

 

Visual tweaks

• Visual tweaks to the trawler
• Visual tweaks to the player profile

In addition to visual tweaks, it is now possible to visit a player's company and view and access their ships via the player profile. You can access details of company members' ships, but when ships belong to non-company members, you can only see a picture of them and their name. If you do not want your ships to be visible to other players, you can change the settings accordingly.

 

New achievements

Motivator: Motivate X ships in total.

Tourist: Visit X monuments.

 

Bug fixes

·         Sometimes ship values went over the bar in the ship details. This should be resolved now.

·         Sometimes the action icon was not displayed properly for an activity bonus. This should be resolved now.

·         When you opened a company profile via a player profile and then went on to open a company member's profile, the member's profile was only refreshed in the background. The accessed profile should now display on top.

·         In some cases, items specified while planning routes were displayed behind the route planer, making it impossible to confirm them. All items should now display correctly on top.
